Oracle Updates Oracle Transportation Management and Global Trade Management Solution To Drive Business Optimization

In its bid to help customers optimize their logistics and global trade compliance operations, Oracle has unveiled new releases of Oracle Transportation Management and Oracle Global Trade Management.

This complete solution spans the entire spectrum of the transportation, compliance and customs processes across virtually all industries and geographies. The new, modern user experience also demonstrates Oracle’s ongoing commitment to meet today’s innovation and extensibility needs.

Oracle Transportation Management 6.4 and Oracle Global Trade Management 6.4, include enhancements in fleet management, transportation sourcing, transportation business intelligence, transportation planning, global trade management and customs management.

“To support business growth and market expansion, shippers and logistics service providers are looking for competitive ways to streamline and enhance complex transportation and trade management processes,” said Derek Gittoes, vice president, supply chain management product strategy, Oracle. “In the latest releases of Oracle Transportation Management and Oracle Global Trade Management, we have combined new capabilities, such as landed cost simulations, with enhancements to one of the industry’s most comprehensive transportation and global trade management platforms. As a result we are in a better place than ever to help our customers further streamline processes, reduce costs and mitigate risks.”

Enterprise-Wide Transportation Capabilities

New capabilities within Oracle Transportation Management 6.4 include: New user experience brings transportation planners and customer service representatives enhanced visibility into planned and in-transit shipment information.
Rate maintenance functionality simplifies the ability to collect, format, load and modify rates in Oracle Transportation Management; helping to enable better rate management processes and improved productivity of users when managing rates across all modes of transportation.
Fleet enhancements including a new, configurable user workbench for fleet management activities, integrated real-time mapping, traffic, and weather services, and advanced algorithmic capabilities support the planning and utilization of fleet resources in conjunction with common carrier resources; helping to produce better fleet asset utilization, reduced transportation costs and improved productivity of personnel.
New RESTful web services enable customers to easily extend the functional capabilities of Oracle Transportation Management (e.g., integration of transportation data with mobile applications)

Global Import and Landed Cost Capabilities

New capabilities within Oracle Global Trade Management 6.4 include: Oracle Global Trade Management Landed Cost Simulator helps to enable optimal supplier selection by allowing users to compare the estimated landed cost (ELC) values for different sourcing options, as well as visibility into customs value, duty and tax amounts and financial benefits of available free trade agreements. These insights help users make well informed, strategic sourcing decisions.

Oracle Global Trade Management Customs Management allows users to proactively manage the entire import pre-entry process. The new enhancements enable customers to carry out customs valuation, calculate applicable duties, taxes and import fees, and it provides visibility to extended supply chain charges required for import documentation and customs filing.
