How identity access management can revitalize enterprise cloud adoption

There is no doubt that the power of cloud computing is touching all corners of the enterprise world, however, when it comes to security, enterprise IT leaders still face a challenge of weaving their traditional IT and modern cloud applications in a single thread, in a secure and seamless manner.

Cloud-IAM

This is where identity access management or IAM is helping enterprise move their IT infrastructure towards cloud, while taking care of their security in an elemental manner.

Keeping in mind the complex and distributed nature of cloud-driven platforms, security approaches that move around the concepts of elemental identity, prove to be the best solution where enterprise applications can be moved towards the cloud and yet be completed secured. However, this requires rethinking and bit of a reinventing the existing technology.

As of today, there are number of vendors including Oracle and IBM that are positioning their solutions in the segment of identity and access management.

As IAM space is all about binding the traditional IT to the next generation cloud tunnels, on one hand, it is quite easy to derive new approaches to security in new age applications that thrive on cloud, while on the other hand, the challenge for IAM is to comprehensively extend security model to the traditional enterprise infrastructure, so the entire environment is secure.

Most of the enterprise IT leaders look for cloud solutions that can promise to deliver consistent and systemic security infrastructure, which is not present in most traditional enterprise IT systems as of today. And as enterprise look forward to transforming their traditional IT infrastructure, the IAM approach is surely set to benefit in terms of speeding their cloud adoption extensively.
