Kingston SSD A400 Review | ChannelDrive.in

In today’s fast paced lifestyles – users look for work to be done in little time, in such scenario if you are not using a SSD drive in your laptop or desktop, then you are definitely missing out the zing!

This is where Kingston’s SSD A400 series makes a big difference – it can deliver the power of seamless flexibility to store – in little time.

Kingston offers reasonably capacious SSDs at the lowest possible prices today in the market. The comapny competes with other storage vendors such as WD, Adata, Samsung, Zotac and Transcend in the Indian market.

Kingston A400 specifications and features

The Kingston A400 is a standard 2.5-inch SATA SSD – it comes in the simplest packaging and can be put to use in no time. The drive itself is just a plastic box with Kingston’s logo etched onto the surface itself.

You can buy an A400 in 120GB, 240GB, and 480GB capacities. In terms of performance, all three are rated at 500MBps for sequential reads, but have different write speeds: 320MBps, 350MBps and 450MBps respectively.

TBW (Terabytes written) gives buyers an idea of the useful life they can expect from their purchase, and the figures are 40TB, 80TB, and 120TB respectively for the three capacities.

Kingston defines 1 million hours as the MTBF (mean time between failures), which is way more than adequate for a consumer drive. Users get a three year warranty with each drive.

Big Advantages Delivered by A400

Fast start-up, loading and file transfers
More reliable and durable than a hard drive
Multiple capacities with space for applications or a hard drive replacement

Kingston solid-state drives are the ideal performance upgrade for consumers and organizations alike. Available in a wide range of models and capacities, Kingston SSDs extend the lifecycle of PCs and provide improved speed, performance and reliability when compared to traditional hard drives.

Backed by a two-, three- or five-year warranty, free technical support and legendary Kingston® reliability, Kingston solid-state drives provide data security combined with future-proof performance for complete peace of mind.

Final Verdict

We used the drive quite rigorously for transferring a lot of our data (videos and high resolution pictures) and it worked smoothly – saving us a whole lot of time.

Hence, the 240GB Kingston A400 delivers great performance and is really quite a handy SSD for the end consumer segment. It is available for MRP of INR 9,000.
