Spotlight on COMPUTEX 2017

Prioritizing its efforts on the gaming and mobile accessory segment, ADATA, is putting together great effort to align itself with the government of India’s “Make in India” initiative. As a result, the company is set to debut its “Make in India” DDRAM modules very soon.

Speaking as part of the company’s showcase at the ongoing COMPUTEX 2017 in Taipei – Syed Arshad Chishty, Vice President, Sales Director, ADATA said that ADATA is quite serious when it comes to “Make in India” products.

“We are aligning ourselves with the government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative – to start with we will soon be having ADATA DRAM modules to come out from India. This will be an initiating point for us, and eventually we will have USB Flash drives, power banks, which will be made in India,” he informed.

“Initially, we are looking at the EDMs to help us in this manufacturing, because they have already created the capacity, so rather than adding to the capacity it always makes sense to go with the existing capacity and utilize it optimally. So, our first make in India DRAM modules will be out in Q3 of 2017,” he added.

As an organization, ADATA has a huge focus towards delivering next generation technology in the SSDs and DRAMs space.

“Traditionally ADATA has been very strong in the DRAM space. So this continues to be a big segment of our focus and we maintain our marketshare in that segment. Our focus would be to grow our business opportunities in the flash segment – which is SSDs and it is a rapidly growing segment in India today. We also have other product lines in power bank and mobile accessory segment, which is another future growth area for us,” he explained.

ADATA Technology, one of the world’s largest vendors of DRAM modules and USB flash drives, provides complete solutions, including memory cards, solid state drives, and portable hard drives. ADATA products also include on the go power for mobile devices and the company is now a major provider of advanced LED lighting.
