OpenLX Technologies Unveils KalCulate – India’s Own Linux Driven Financial Software

New Delhi based OpenLX Technologies, an innovative software solutions provider has unveiled – KalCulate – which is billed as India’s very own Linux Driven financial software that can take care of all the financial accounting and inventory management for the SME segment in the country.

Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari launched this totally indigenous software, that will assist business users to do their Accounting-Inventory-Sales-Purchase in affordable way and called for converting knowledge into economy.

Speaking at a function organised to launch the software, Mr Gadkari mooted for information technology and bio-technology for India’s future and said Narendra Modi government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, along with Made in India, would make the country ”Number one” in the world.

He stressed the need to lessen dependence on imports and encourage exports and convert knowledge into wealth. The software-Kalculate Business Desktop (KBD) – which will be a boon for the SME industry, is built on Linux platform that complies with the Government’s new Open-Source policy.

Being bundled with Open LX Linux Operating System, the user gets Operating System, Office Suite (with full compatibility to all other data formats, Internet Suite of applications, Graphics and Multimedia applications, Utilities, Tools and a lot more.

The software helps business users to get benefits of Secure (Virus-free), Friendly (Graphical User Interface), Affordable software by combining the power of Openlx Linux with Kalculate Business Accounting software.

KBD gives the user a standard-based Accounting-Inventory-Sales-Purchase in India by the Indian company that comes bundled with Operating System, Office and Internet Suite, Graphics and Multimedia tools, Utilities and a lot more that normal business users will find a boonfor legalising their desktops with affordable software.

Focused at SMEs that cannot afford high cost of software and is forced to pirate, KBD is a solution that helps SMEs to legalise their software use without having to pay heavy penalties or high cost software.

Further, KBD being virus-free, gives a worry-free, secure environment to the industry that usually suffers frequent data-loss due to virus and Trojans. The total cost of business software for the company will come down to Rs 9,999 by using KBD.

The United News of India Chairman said the news agency would, from now on,
start using Linux software which was ”100 per cent swadeshi and would help bankers, accountants and all such professionals. Describing Mr Gadkari as a ‘Man with Midas touch’, he said he hoped that the software launched by the Minister would be a great help in the ‘Make in India’ initiative of the Prime Minister.

Mr Gadkari said Mr Modi had often stressed on Digital India and e-Governance and technological innovations for future progress.

In that context, developing indigenous and affordable software, reducing dependence on imports and encouraging exports was the government’s future thinking. Listing out various initiatives taken by his Ministry, Mr Gadkari lamented that lack of knowledge was the biggest problem and called for developing self-confidence.

”Gyan, Vigyan and Tantra Vigyan are important for the country’s progress. We can become number one but we have to have that self confidence,” he said.
