TAITRONICS 2017 was inaugurated today in Taipei, Taiwan with a clear vision to put spotlight on burgeoning opportunities in the space of AIoT (artificial intelligence / Internet of Things) and smart technologies and enable a future-ready ICT ecosystem of tomorrow.
TAITRONICS 2017 is happening from Oct 11 to Oct 14, 2017 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.
Driven by the Taiwan Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association (TEEMA) – TAITRONICS 2017 is one of the oldest exposition in Taiwan and its the 43rd edition for this year.
TAITRONICS 2017 is featuring about 400 exhibitors operating over 800 booths. In addition to Taiwanese majors, exhibitors from India, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and China – including 14 innovative local and international startups and showcasing their creativity as part of this global exposition.
As part of delivering special address during the inauguration of TAITRONICS 2017 – Ajay Prakash Sawhney, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India said that India is in an ideal position to offer huge opportunity for Taiwanese companies to invest in the country and gain on the long run.
“India is going through a very exciting phase today. We are one of the fastest growing economy and hence there is huge opportunity for Taiwanese companies to take benefit from our position and increase on their investment plans,” he added.
New Tech, New Apps
New Technology, New Applications – is the primary theme that is running across this year’s TAITRONICS. The event comprises 10 show areas with focuses such as Energy-Efficient Solutions, Smart manufacturing and Smart Living & Consumer Electronics. In addition to this, there are six pavilions including the Startup pavilion and the AIoT pavilion.
Trends in AIoT are gradually becoming important for a number of verticals and are yielding developments applicable in fields such as agriculture, retail, education, healthcare, transportation, household care and manufacturing, according to TAITRA exhibition Department Director Huang Han-tang.
With Big Data, IoT and AI are fast becoming important for realizing the full potential of ICT on global scale. TEEMA committee head Engel Wu said that he anticipated industry transformations on the horizon, especially when hardware manufacturers moved to develop software.
TEEMA has invited the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and the Asia Pacific Industrial Analysis Association (APIAA) aiming to combine the former’s knowledge of industry trends with the latter’s expertise in innovative product transformation and smart applications.
