Infogain Focusing on Cloud and Mobility for Growth

A Silicon-Valley based company, Infogain is a business-oriented IT services organization that is specializing in technology solutions for the High Tech, Retail and Insurance segments. With close to 2,000 employees in the USA, Europe, the Middle East, India, and Asia Pacific, the company is looking forward to cloud and mobility for driving growth ahead.

Eddie Chandhok, President, Infogain India, speaks with Zia Askari from ChannelDrive.in about the company’s current strategy and future plans.

What are the key focus areas of operations for Infogain today?

We are heavily focused towards driving enterprise application development for our set of clients which are primarily spread across segments such as communications, telecoms, media, retail and insurance sectors. US is the biggest market for us so far, but we are also making inroads in India as well.

Cloud and mobility hold key focus for our operations today. We are also focused towards outsourcing of product development. We have recently done port management software for one of our clients where we enable container optimization for ports.

What is your opinion about the US market today?

I think that the US market has entered into a phase where they understand the real benefits of partnering with global organizations. There is no question about finding the cheap labor anymore. It is all about finding the right set of partners now. So today, most of the organizations in US look for specialized partners who have the technical expertise and can add value to their business proposition.

What are some of the challenges that Infogain is facing as an organisation and how do you plan to overcome these challenges?

As we expand to new areas and address new age technology solutions, training of our manpower becomes an ongoing exercise and is also a challenge for us. As we are having focus on multiple sets of verticals, with the help of training, we are creating experts on insurance, retail etc. finding the right talent is another challenge that we face, quite regularly.

What are some of the areas where the organization will be putting its effort in the near future?

As we are a growing organization, our revenue per client has gone up by 50 per cent. Moving forward, we see healthcare as one segment where we will be putting a lot of efforts. In the next 12 to 18 months, we will have a vertical for healthcare which will be focused towards driving healthcare solutions.
