PCAIT Moves to Tackle ‘Payment Default Cases’

At a time when IT segment is going through a tough time, business pressures are at times prompting many partners to engage themselves in unlawful acts and in order to thwart such malpractices, New Delhi based PCAIT (Progressive Channel Association of Information Technology) has bestirred its ‘Dispute Settlement Committee’.

“Payment defaults in business are norm of the Day. Lengthy and painstaking judicial procedures for its recovery are a tonic for defaulters. In wake of this, we have bestirred the “Dispute Settlement Committee” with active participation of our President, Alok Gupta and Committee Member Anuj Modi. Since the election of new Executive council last year, this committee has helped its members recover long pending dues from erring partners and customers,” explained, Saket Kapur, General Secretary, PCAIT.

As partners feel the pressure of performing well for their vendors, this pressure at times results in pushing of products and solutions to partners not known to have a good credit-friendly image. And many times, this results in default of payments wherein different partners stand to lose their payment while selling products to different resellers on credit. Such an initiative by PCAIT will surely go a long way in terms of putting a fast end to such malpractices in the IT market.

“In the recent past, we have been able to resolve such issues of Kamtron, Rah Infotech, Computer Park and Champion. Currently, we are undergoing many others where we are working on the complaints.Going a step forward, “Dispute Settlement Committee” is also experienced in providing institutional Arbitration and Conciliation Services to desirous Members, Partners, Distributors and OEM’s in the “ICT” fraternity in the milieu of Arbitration & Conciliation Act 1996 of Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR),” Saket added.
