The WiFi Channel Leadership Summit & Awards 2018 was inaugurated by Vipin Tyagi, Executive Director, C-DOT, RK Singh, Director – Planning & Operation, BBNL and Tulika Pandey, Director, MeitY.
With an aim to increase participation of channel partner community in the WiFi space, DigiAnalysys, ChannelDrive and techARC hosted India’s first WiFi Channel Leadership Summit & Awards 2018 on 20th December, 2018 at Suryaa Hotel in New Delhi.
The one-day event focused on the central theme of “Harmonising Growth of Channel Partner Ecosystem” and brought multiple stakeholders including channel partners, ISPs, small medium and large enterprises, public sector units and technology vendors discuss how India can achieve 10 million WiFi hotspots by 2022. The comprehensive participation aligned industry influencers from different sectors to explore areas of collaboration through varied WiFi business models.
“The WiFi opportunity in the government vertical is large as around 250,000 gram panchayats need to be WiFi enabled (each having 4-5 WiFi hotspots) in a years time so channel partners need to work together with PSUs and government to leverage on this large opportunity at the earliest,” said Pravin Prashant, Editor, DigiAnalysys.
“Whether it is home, enterprise or a public access place – WiFi is fast becoming the most critical communication thread that is enabling seamless connectivity and solution providers, VARs, distributors and resellers are playing an important role when it comes to fulfilling and driving this market ahead. This is our effort to recognize the importance of India’s channel ecosystem and honour them in their respective segments,” says, Zia Askari, Editor, ChannelDrive.in.
Faisal Kawoosa, Founder & Partner, techARC said, “Across the ICT industry, we have seen all leading hardware companies re-emerging as solutions companies. It is now time for channel partners to play a critical role in making WiFi a success through WiFi As A Service Model.”
As part of the event, WiFi Channel Leadership Awards were given to Solution Providers, VARs and Distributors in different categories on the basis of their performance, inputs from OEM/vendors, channel partners and senior industry stakeholders.
