How DIESL is Scripting Success Story for Mobile Distribution in India

Milind Shahane, Managing Director, Drive India Enterprise Solutions Limited (DIESL) speaks with Zia Askari from ChannelDrive.in about the company’s core focus areas and its future plans for India.

What is the core focus of activities for your operations?

Our core focus has been on the fulfillment part. We are a distribution and logistics company. We work very closely with all our partners in terms of establishing their logistics support and ensure that their product availability is maximized.

We bring the material into the country, we warehouse it. We have almost 6.5 million sq ft space across the country and we operate from more than 200 locations.

How many brands are being handled by your organization?

We are doing 7 brands now. Gionee and OPPO are amongst them. We power their fulfillment in India.

What about the service part for mobile phones?

We do not have service at the moment, but we have plans towards enabling service for mobiles as part of our operations. We will be doing this by next financial year.

How do you look at the mobile market and what are your plans to add more brands?

We certainly have plans to add more brands, we are in discussion with other brands. We want to become a big distribution brand in India.

We have 30 people in this particular group.

What is the big value that you are adding to a brand like Gionee?

We are adding huge value – as we are doing the fulfillment for the brand in India – we are doing this with the help of on-time delivery and reliability all this at a particular cost. We are making sure that there is on time delivery and reliability associated with the brand value. All this has to be given at a competitive cost and this is what makes a brand – tick in a market like India. This is what we are doing with Gionee.

Any plans to expand your network?

We are continuously expanding our network. In the last three years itself, we have expanded to about 2 million sq ft.
