Avaya Goes Bullish on Innovation, ISVs and Growth in India

Driving ahead on its innovation led approach to enable next generation ready ICT solutions, Avaya India is putting big effort towards engaging with the right independent software vendors (ISVs) in India and increase its market share in the region.

“As an Avaya we are transforming as an organisation – today we are focusing our efforts around customer engagement solutions space. The market is really changing – the era of going to customer and talking about voice solution is changing – we are having solutions that are open, flexible, heavy engagement based solutions. Innovation is quite central to what we do. We are providing all this to our partners and customers. It is very different from traditional Avaya,” explains, Vishal Agrawal, Senior Director, AMEA Services Sales, Avaya India.

ISVs and Avaya

When it comes to driving innovation ahead, Avaya has got a big focus towards developing, engaging and nurturing its ISV ecosystem in the country.

“ISVs play a very important role. We are talking about an engagement development platform – we are talking about an open architecture platform – we have a model, where we have ISVs who can build their solutions, some of these solutions can be jointly marketed. We call it ‘Avaya DevConnect’ – the idea is to build some specific solutions for banking, healthcare, education – and then, how can we provide a platform where they can build the solutions – and then we can go and do the joint marketing for these solutions. We are working on this direction today,” he added.

“This is a very strong strength of Avaya today. And moving forward, this is going to be the way for Avaya because we are talking to couple of partners over here for instance – to build some specific solutions for banking sector with the partners and then getting them tied up with Avaya. So we are looking at such partners in healthcare, education etc. the idea is to enable a platform, where they can build a solution and then we can go ahead and do the joint marketing,” he explained.

Opportunities in India

As far as Avaya is concerned, India is one of the high growth opportunity markets for the company and at a time when the government of India focusing a lot towards digital enablement and smart utilization of ICT, Avaya is looking at this as a huge opportunity.

“Today’s India, is in the era of technology led innovation – it is the era of the youth – the growth of mid market, young entrepreneurs, companies coming and establishing themselves around innovation. And with our focus towards innovation, Avaya fits in this scheme very well as a great enabler towards innovation. The government is putting a lot of emphasis on digital India space – smart education, smart healthcare, security – everything has got potential for Avaya.

Overall it is a very strategic market for us, we are investing in this market. We see great potential here in this market. we are very bullish about India,” he added.
