Dassault Systems to offer ‘PLM as a Service’ to Indian SMEs

In line with the government of India’s renewed focus towards strengthening India’s manufacturing prowess, global 3D software and PLM innovation organization, Dassault Systems is set to focus towards empowering India’s SME sector with affordable, next generation Product Lifecycle Management solutions over the cloud architecture.

“We firmly believe that as a nation, India has huge potential in the manufacturing segment which needs to be realized well. We have been very active in India with a set of strategic partnerships that are very important for us. We are looking forward to targeting the Indian SME segment with our world class PLM solutions, over cloud infrastructure. This strategy to deliver our solutions via cloud will considerably reduce the cost of accessing software that is so critical for manufacturing segment,” explained, Bernard Charles, President & CEO, Dassault Systems.

The company already has its own cloud platform which is powering such ‘PLM as a Service’ delivery to its various set of customers in other geographies. It is expecting to launch this in India in about three months time frame.

“We launched this service globally, last year and now we are in the process of evaluating to launch this in India in the best possible manner,” he added.

The company already has a base of more than 4000 customers in the SME segment within India. This move to provide PLM capabilities over cloud, can go a long way in further expanding the company’s reach towards SMEs in India and most importantly can help SMEs to get access to global standards of manufacturing in an affordable manner.
