“We are expanding our presence in offline, online retailers across India”

Moving ahead with its innovative range of products, Amkette is set to further expand its presence in India by partnering with more number of offline and online retailers spread across multiple locations in India.

Rajiv Bapna, Director, Amkette speaks with Zia Askari from ChannelDrive.in about the company’s core focus today and its plans for future.

What are the big priorities for Amkette in India today?

At Amkette, we want to continue creating smart audio products that forever enhances ones’ music experience. The users today are very particular about portability of any device they buy and opt for the ones which are easy to carry, lightweight and quality driven.

We want to continue making such devices with which the consumers can connect. Moreover, with the launch of Evo Gamepad Pro recently, building a niche and stronger brand resonance in the casual gaming community is one of our top priorities.

What is the go to market strategy for the company in India? How many distributors and channel partners does the company have in India?

Amkette distribution system is its strength in India. We have a well focused general trade distribution covering 500 distributors, 6000 retail outlets in 110 cities. In addition we work closely with all E-Commerce portals such as Flipkart & Amazon as also the Modern trade formats. Most of our product launches cover all these channels in 60 days of launch.

What kinds of innovations are likely to come from Amkette in the Indian market?

We are working on bringing in a separate gaming console, priced under Rs 10,000, to strengthen our position in the Indian gaming market. Amkette will continue to focus on building product for today’s mobile generation which prefers quality in terms of design, performance.

We will continue to build innovative products by foraying into newer categories for the Indian market with international standards.

What are the challenges that the company is facing in India?

While product innovation is company strength only, where in we launch several pioneering products. Our biggest challenge is to scale up Amkette experience zones where consumer can try these products. At present we have 12 experience zones and the plan is to scale up to 40 nos. by end of this financial year.

What kind of growth is the company looking for?

We are definitely looking at building more innovative products that scale up our revenues further. Also, we are slowly looking at expanding our presence in more offline and online retailers across different parts of the country so that our products reach to more and more consumer base.
