At the Canalys Channels Forum in Taipei, Tian Beng Ng, Senior Vice President & General Manager – Channels, APJ, Dell Technologies emphasized on how the company’s innovative portfolio is enabling big changes and big opportunities for the channel community and opening doors to driving greater level of profitability for the channel community.

“We all know that data is increasing at a very significant pace. According to IDC, just by 2025, data will increase to 175 ZB – that’s massive but it is only relevant if we can make use of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and Edge Computing.

The IT landscape is changing quickly. It is changing because it is driving a lot of fascinating technologies – for example in real time analytics, customers are actually moving the compute to the edge and the cost of everything intelligent is really dropping down to nearly zero and this has led to the growing emergence of edge which is now becoming more popular. The complexity for customers is increasing at a very rapid pace,” he explained.

Speaking about the future state of the enterprise – he said that it is getting increasingly complex – but at the same time, channel partners can become trusted advisers of enterprise customers.

“If we look at the future state of the enterprise – it is becoming lot more complex. Customers are asking where do I begin on this? Good news for all of the channel partners and technology enablers is that customers need you as their trusted advisors. They need you to know their business and their industry, they need you to develop and deploy their business strategy and importantly, how to connect business strategy to IT capabilities. We at Dell Technologies are here to partner with you on this,” he added.

Big Change, Big Opportunities

Emphasizing on the growing importance of services for achieving greater level of growth for channel community – quoting a recent channel survey he mentioned that 60 per cent of channel revenue is today, coming from services side.

“In a recent channel survey, we found that in 2019, 60 per cent of the channel revenue will actually come from services and the message we have here is to embrace this trend and wrap your services and capabilities around this trend and there will be boundless opportunities. So together with Dell Technologies, we can calm the chaos and lead customers confidently towards the future.

With the combined power of Dell Technologies family of brands such as Dell EMC, VMWare, RSA, Pivotal, and with technology partners such as Intel – we have the industry’s broadest and most innovative technologies and services portfolio. From the Edge, to the Core and to the Cloud. But real value is not just the individual products but in the greater portfolio and you can see that evidence in more and more of our solutions,” he explained.
