Communic Indonesia will Accelerate Development of Indonesia’s ICT Ecosystem

Whether it is broadband communications or satellite communications, mobility or enterprise solutions – happening for the first time in Jakarta – Communic Indonesia is set to become a marquee exposition for regional players to look at the burgeoning opportunities in the Indonesian market.

Ben Wong, President Director of organiser PT. Pamerindo Indonesia speaks with Zia Askari from ChannelDrive.in about the importance of this event and how will this create great opportunities for the ICT ecosystem.

This is the first time that Communic Indonesia is happening in Jakarta, Indonesia. What are the key priorities for Communic Indonesia 2016?

The key priority for Communic Indonesia is to create a platform that presents technology and innovations most needed to accelerate the development of Indonesia’s ICT ecosystem. The event also aims to be a forum where business and government leaders gather to discuss and share insights on issues critical to Indonesia’s digital strategy and trends impacting Indonesia.

What are some of the big benefits that an organisation can expect from this exhibition?

Communic Indonesia will showcase an ecosystem of technologies related to broadband, satellite communications, mobility and enterprise solutions including security, cloud and big data. These are innovations local companies need to embrace in order to compete in the global digital economy.

Local business and decision makers will get a firsthand look and a chance to speak to exhibitors across a variety of solutions, and decide on the best solution for them.

The event will comprise of the first Indonesia ICT Summit 2016, hosted by Masyarakat Telematika Indonesia (MASTEL). The Indonesia ICT Summit will see global experts and industry thought leaders gather to discuss latest trends, issues and solutions facing businesses today, and offer valuable insights decision makers can tap into in their quest for digital transformation.

How many organisations are likely to participate in this mega exhibition? How many regional countries are likely to participate in this exhibition?

Over 280 exhibiting companies from 28 countries and regions, will participate at Communic Indonesia and Broadcast Indonesia.

There are a lot of business growth opportunities in the space of Telecoms, communications and innovations – how can this exhibition bring together such opportunities towards realisation?

It is opportunities abound for companies in the telecoms and ICT space as Indonesia moves towards a mobile-first market with rapid smartphone adoption among its population of 250 million. According to the Ericsson Mobility Report, 4G penetration currently stands at 2 percent in Indonesia and is expected to reach 14 percent by 2018.

This presents great growth prospects for areas such as mobile content creators and providers, e-commerce and enterprise solutions to enable an upwardly mobile workforce, among many others.

As mentioned earlier, Communic Indonesia will be the platform that presents an ecosystem of technology and innovations needed to help local companies level up their ICT capabilities, to become more connected, mobile and better able to thrive and compete in the global digital landscape.
