This year, Lenovo is celebrating Earth Day by reflecting on its continued progress toward delivering on its environmental sustainability commitments and the goals it has set for the future.
After meeting and exceeding its 2010-2020 greenhouse gas emission reduction targets, Lenovo joined the Science Based Targets initiative and set ambitious goals for the next ten years to decrease greenhouse gas emissions throughout its operations and value chain.
The company’s aggressive new targets outline plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 by cutting scope 1 and 2 emissions in half. By having science-based targets, Lenovo’s efforts will measurably contribute to the United Nation’s goal to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Using 17 million lbs (8 million kgs) of recycled plastic in 66 different product lines, annually
Eliminating over 3,100 tons of waste through the incorporation of compostable sugarcane and bamboo since 2008
Reducing packaging consumption by 560 tons in fiscal year 2019/2020
Joining the UN’s CEO Water Mandate to advance water stewardship and decrease water stress by 2050
Completing solar projects at Lenovo facilities in Morrisville and Whitsett, NC, USA and in Hefei and Wuhan, China in 2020
