Virtusa Corporation, a global provider of digital strategy, digital engineering, and IT outsourcing services, in association with Symbiosis opened a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in their Pune campus.
The CoE is set up with an aim to nurture young talent who are interested in pursuing a course on Information Security.
Speaking at the event, Madu Ratnayake, Chief Information Officer, Virtusa Corporation said, “We are extremely happy to partner with Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology and open a CoE at their campus. We are sure the CoE would play a major role in uplifting the country’s technology infrastructure to a major extent. In addition, this association will nurture young graduates from the campus and will provide them a global exposure towards various domains within Enterprise Security.
As part of the association, Virtusa will nominate its subject matter experts to give out industry-oriented invaluable inputs. Additionally, as part of the coursework, students will have the opportunity to work on real-time use cases that will expose them to actual work scenarios. The Virtusa team will mentor and review their work to ensure they are industry-ready by the time they pass out. Students will also be given an opportunity to intern at Virtusa offices along with pre-placement offers.
Speaking on the partnership, Dr Dhanya Pramod, Director – Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology said, “Symbiosis International (Deemed University) has welcomed and nurtured relationships with various organizations to bridge the industry-academia gap. This MoU with Virtusa signed for its constituent institute Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology is another landmark association that we are extremely proud of. We look forward to empower the faculty members and enrich the overall curriculum with this association. The students will not only get an opportunity to be more connected with the industry but will be able to relate conceptual understanding and experiential learning to industry practices.”
