Google Cloud and Pearson, the global enabler in lifelong learning, has announced a multi-year strategic collaboration to advance new AI-powered products and services that personalize learning for students, empower educators with insights, and help improve educational outcomes.
AI and cloud technologies are transforming industries and redefining the skills required for tomorrow’s workforce. Equipping educators with the knowledge and resources to safely and effectively integrate AI into everyday learning has the potential to enhance students’ learning and equip them with the skills they need to succeed in an AI-driven world.
Pearson, known for trusted K-12 products and services such as Connections Academy, virtual schools, GED, school assessments, and instructional materials, will collaborate with Google to bring powerful AI capabilities to learners worldwide. This collaboration combines Pearson’s expertise in K-12 learning with the AI ​​technologies of Google Cloud’s Vertex AI platform, including Gemini, Google’s advanced family of AI models enhanced with LearnLM, Google’s family of models tuned for learning, and agent-based AI.
The partnership will provide richer content and more engaging learning experiences for learners using Pearson’s AI products and services, particularly in the K-12 classroom. In addition, Google for Education and Pearson will collaborate on launch and explore opportunities to integrate their product suites.
Pearson and Google will collaborate in several ways:
Personalized learning for students: Pearson and Google Cloud will collaborate to accelerate the delivery of agent-driven AI-powered learning tools that enable personalized learning that adapts to each student’s individual pace and progress, guiding and supporting learners on their path to academic success.
Data-driven support for teachers: Pearson and Google Cloud will provide teachers with data-driven insights by leveraging platforms like BigQuery to gain a comprehensive view of student progress and learning needs, enabling more targeted instruction that aligns with educational standards.
Scale AI-powered content and services: Pearson and Google Cloud will improve how schools access, deploy, and scale Pearson’s AI-powered content and services, leveraging Google Cloud’s AI content creation tools, such as Veo and Imagen, to ensure rapid and secure delivery of educational resources across all learning environments.
Responsible and secure AI: Pearson and Google Cloud will work together on responsible AI practices to ensure that AI-powered education products and services are secure and private, and address the needs of learners, teachers, and schools.
Professional Credentialing: Google Cloud will expand its agreement to use Credly by Pearson for professional badges and certifications.
