How Mimosa is Expanding its Distribution Network in the Philippines

Mimosa Networks, Inc., the global technology enabler in wireless broadband solutions, and Achieve Without Borders (AWB) Networks, a Philippines-based value added distributor, announced that AWB Networks is now a distributor of Mimosa products.

Under the distribution agreement between the two companies, AWB will represent Mimosa’s solutions as it drives internet connectivity and expands broadband coverage throughout the Philippines, a key government initiative.

Mimosa’s innovative fixed wireless solutions will complement AWB’s extensive range of wired and wireless broadband networking equipment from top-tier global manufacturers.

The partnership between the two companies will provide Mimosa with direct access to AWB’s large reseller base, which includes leading Value-Added Resellers, System Integrators and Service Providers, stretching across all vertical markets.

With sales and distribution facilities strategically located in Makati City, Metro Manila and in Mandaue City, Cebu, AWB offers full coverage of the Philippines. AWB believes there will be strong demand for Mimosa solutions, with all types of customers greatly benefiting from being more connected, including schools, enterprises in rural areas, and Wireless ISPs. Key solutions for wireless internet service providers and enterprises will be point-to-point (PTP) and point-to-multipoint (PTMP) links, especially in video surveillance applications.

“We are excited about the addition of Mimosa to our portfolio as it will greatly enhance our network offerings and will allow us to address new market opportunities,” said Rica Montayre, Mimosa Product Manager at AWB. According to AWB, the Mimosa product suite will offer their customers a unique solution unmatched in price/performance, extending internet connectivity using 5 GHz, 11 GHz and 24 GHz frequencies. “We are always looking for new and innovative products, and are particularly excited about the Mimosa B24 which we believe will be virtually unmatched and will disrupt the market. 24 GHz is still uncongested and offers our customers an early advantage to gain superior performance in certain conditions.” In addition to the B24, AWB sees the Mimosa B5 and B5c products doing well in the Philippines because of their price/performance value.

Aloha Domingo, Sales Manager of AWB Makati continued, “This strategy of lowering the cost of wireless network projects while increasing their overall quality and reliability is exactly the same strategy we believe in. We see Mimosa as a young, dynamic and innovative team with lots of bigger and better products yet to come. We are honored to share in their growth and represent their innovative products.”

“AWB is an ideal distribution partner – a young, innovative company with a fresh approach to the market,” said Sunny Tham, Sales Manager for Mimosa in Asia. “With AWB, more customers will get to experience Mimosa’s solutions, and enjoy fiber-fast broadband connectivity. Mimosa is the perfect solution to extend the reach of fiber assets and provide even greater access to high-speed internet services.”

Mimosa access, backhaul, and client solutions are deployed in a hybrid-fiber-wireless architecture, and engineered for both Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint connections, across a variety of diverse applications including residential and business high-speed internet access, surveillance, agribusiness, education and hospitality networking.

Mimosa’s technology delivers unprecedented levels of cost-effective spectral efficiency, allowing scarce spectrum to be concurrently and reliably shared across networks. Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Silicon Valley, Mimosa is sold worldwide by members of Mimosa’s partner program.
