With Oracle Retail Merchandise Financial Planning, the company will further expand throughout the Brazilian continental territory. The retailer will transform from a traditional shoe sales model to hybrid in-person and online selling to support faster inventory turns and larger sales volumes.

“As the company restructured its processes, it became necessary to review product lifecycle management and financial inventory planning tools,” said Fabiano Mombach, head of planning at Studio Z.

“Our business model requires agility and periodic review of plans. The Oracle Retail solution embeds industry best practices to optimize merchandise financial planning and implements a new planning concept for our operation that offers the control and flexibility we need to scale.”

Oracle Retail Merchandise Financial Planning helps retailers like the Studio Z team plan inventory investments in the pre-season and current season. The solution centralizes the planning process and aligns key financial indicators such as sales, revenue, inventory, gross profit, and open-to-buy rates. Studio Z offers more than 8,000 private and third-party brand footwear models, accounting for an average of 90,000 SKUs.

Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) member, Fidentech worked with Oracle and Studio Z on the implementation. Fidentech specializes in retail demand planning and forecasting and demonstrated a clear understanding of the customer objectives and timelines that helped streamline the project and ensure a successful go-live.

The footwear industry demands constant monitoring and review of buying behaviors. By adopting a holistic approach to planning, Studio Z can revise targets in the middle of the year and adjust its plan as needed. Before implementing Oracle, the company planned primarily in Microsoft Excel. With Oracle Retail solutions, Studio Z gained a new level of visibility and agility to review its plan in detail by store and by category, reducing the possibility of errors, decreasing unneeded inventory significantly, and improving governance.

“Fashion footwear requires speed and scale,” said Mike Webster, senior vice president, and general manager, Oracle Retail. “Retail buyers and planning teams, like Studio Z, are leveraging Oracle Retail planning solutions to maximize sales, margin, and improve inventory planning across digital and customer journeys.”
