Forescout Technologies Inc., the global enabler in automated cybersecurity, has joined the Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative (JCDC) to support the U.S. government’s effort to strengthen the cybersecurity and resilience of its industrial control systems and operational technology (Industrial Control Systems and Operational Technology, ICS/OT).
Established by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the JCDC connects cyber defenders with the goal of enabling critical thinking and organizing against cyberattacks.
“It is an honor to be included in the newly expanded JCDC-ICS, to share Forescout’s leadership and expert skills in ICS/OT security,” said Tim Jones, vice president of the ‘Systems Engineering for the US Federal Government, at Forescout. “Having worked directly with CISA for years, I know that this type of collaboration between leaders in the cybersecurity industry is exactly what our country needs to protect against cyberattacks that threaten the critical infrastructure we we all depend on it in our daily lives. »
Forescout’s cybersecurity solutions are leveraged by many of the largest utilities, governments and other critical infrastructure providers around the world. Forescout is on a mission to improve the cybersecurity postures of the critical infrastructure community, through specialized OT solutions , and derived from OT-specific research conducted by Forescout’s Vedere Labs , which has revealed more than 50 OT vulnerabilities in the last month alone. Additionally, Forescout is a founding member of the OT Cyber Coalition whose primary goal is to improve the resilience of our nation’s critical infrastructure.
The JCDC-ICS will build on the existing JCDC platform by leveraging the knowledge, visibility, and capabilities of the ICS community to improve protection and defense of control systems, inform U.S. government guidance on ICS/OT cybersecurity, and contribute to a real-time operational fusion, between private and public partners in the ICS/OT space.
