GreenField Unveils New Version of DCIM Software ‘GFS Crane’

GreenField Software, an Indian DCIM Software vendor, has released next of version of its Data Centre Infrastructure Management software. Christened as GFS Crane, the new version comes with a set of enhancements that are directed towards increasing the functionalities and usability of the software solution.

The enhancements in the new release–GFS Crane V 2.5–include:

• Multi-protocol support: GFS Crane V 2.5 has extended protocol support to connect with, and capture data from systems used in physical infrastructure and industrial applications.

• Multi-device and sensor support: The new Release employs a flexible reporting system that enables reporting on any device and sensor from which data has been captured. Examples include: Building Management Systems, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Power systems, Smoke Detection and Fire Prevention systems, CCTV, gas sensors and Water Leak Detections systems.

• Power Chains: Beyond monitoring and reporting, GFS Crane now provides single window view on power use, distribution losses and alerts across the entire power chain of a data centre. This can be customized for power chains of other facilities.

• Asset Relationship Mapping: The new Release maps relationships across all physical and IT infrastructure assets of the Data Centre, thereby identifying vulnerable points and potential cascading impacts due to any adverse incident. This can help avoid a catastrophic failure.

• Asset Lifecycle Management: GFS Crane V 2.5 Asset Management allows users to track the entire history of an asset from date of its commissioning to its final retirement. These include: application-use, change in business ownership, Move-Add-Changes, and maintenance history. This enables compliance and audit requirements.

Announcing the new release, Shekhar Dasgupta, Founder & CEO, GreenField Software, said, “GFS Crane, with multi-protocol and multi-device extensions, now becomes an Industrial Internet platform with applications beyond data centres. In addition to data centres, GreenField Software’s GFS Crane is now ready for deployment in hospitals, mining and transportation–sectors where safety, punctuality and shorter cycle times are critical,” he added.

Alluding to opportunities for GFS Crane in industrial domain, GreenField Software’s Head of Product Development and VP Parikshit Bhaduri, said, “Industrial Internet stretches Internet of Things (IoT) to the industrial domain providing integrated information based on real-time data coming from a network of widely distributed sensors and intelligent machines.

“GFS Crane updated version offers instantaneous analytic capabilities over real-time monitoring of industrial systems uncovering inefficiencies and communicate/display conditions for optimal operations over a vast canvas of industrial applications”, he added.

Shekhar Dasgupta Founder & CEO GreenField Software, says, “GFS Crane V2 .5 has enhanced User Interface and employs an enhanced model and visualization of the data centre layout with assets such as racks, UPS, PACs. It also designates hot aisle, cold aisle in data centre and ability to show temperature across the room if sensors are attached. An enhanced dashboard shows various metrics and data in real time.”
