Minjar – Using Cloud to Drive Business Agility for Enterprise

A pretty much ‘born-in-the-cloud company’ – Minjar Cloud Solutions has been working very closely with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in terms of creating wining propositions for its customer community.

Vijay Rayapati, CEO, Minjar Cloud Solutions Pvt Ltd speaks with Zia Askari from ChannelDrive.in about the company’s current focus and its future plans.

How do you define Minjar Cloud Solutions?

Minjar is a fast-growing cloud solutions company with focus on APAC and US markets. Our team is passionate about using cloud technology to deliver business value to our customers. We are “Customer Obsessed” and we do what it takes for “Customer Success”. We have seen a significant growth over last 4 years, with a strong focus on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. Minjar is one of the very few premier consulting partners having secured audited managed services capabilities in the APAC market.

What are the top priorities for Minjar today?

We primarily help mid-market and enterprise customers to adopt cloud solutions to bring agility to their business and deliver innovative solutions. Enterprise DevOps is one of the core focus areas for Minjar. We work with business owners in reducing their time to market for testing new ideas and solutions while leveraging existing business data for analytics and accelerated growth.

How long has Minjar been associated with AWS? What prompted you to partner with AWS?

We are a born-in-the-cloud company, started with AWS as a platform for delivering our services and solutions to customers. We have been associated with Amazon Web Services in our journey from the day one. However over the last 3 years, after becoming a member of Amazon Partner Network and working closely with local AWS teams in various regions, we have taken our partnership to the next level from last year by achieving the levels of AWS Premier Consulting Partner designation and AWS Managed Service Provider. The mentorship and guidance from executive-level sponsors in the AWS partner network is one of the factors for our significant growth as a solutions provider.

As a partner, what all practices and solutions you build on AWS cloud platform?

Minjar provides cloud and big data solutions to businesses, to help them successfully transform into digital businesses. Our specific solutions include Data Centre Migration, Enterprise Applications like Microsoft/Oracle on Cloud, Enterprise DevOps, BI Analytics and Cloud Managed Services. We start with assessing the business needs to create cloud journey roadmap for enterprise customers. Our value proposition for customers is to give them an ability to quickly test out their new business ideas and bring agility to their core solutions using AWS cloud.

What kind of support do you receive from AWS when delivering these solutions to customers?

The AWS sales, marketing and go-to-market teams work with us in jointly taking our offerings and solutions to customers across different regions. It has significantly helped us in building a brand and reaching out to specific customer segments. We couldn’t have acquired many global enterprise brands as customers without the support of AWS field teams.

We also engage very closely with AWS technical teams in identifying the best and right fit solutions for customer requirements. We leverage AWS teams’ expertise in providing global best practices related to cloud solutions for all our customers.

What kind of business model do you follow as an AWS partner?

Our business model is outcome based, with fixed price for all consulting engagements. We provide per server based monthly pricing for cloud managed services with different tiers based on customer requirements for 24×7 support etc. Our focus is to deliver platform-supported DevOps service for customers.

What benefits are you reaping being a part of AWS Partner Network?

Minjar has been a great beneficiary of the AWS Partner Network (APN) program as it helped us in creating joint go-to-market strategies, customer acquisition, skilling our teams on AWS technologies and proof-of-concept funding support for enterprise accounts acquisition. The global and India APN team has been providing guidance in formulating our business strategy and sales outreach for accelerated revenue growth. The APN program has been instrumental in our growth from a team of less than 10 people to around 100 people within a short span of 4 years.

What types of workloads from on-premises datacenters are you moving to AWS cloud for your customers?

We start with quick wins in enterprises like web applications (used for internal or external users) or engage with line of business owners on their new initiatives to demonstrate our capabilities and value proposition.

Very often, the enterprise IT teams quickly realise the agility and important values that the AWS cloud can bring to them and they ask us to proceed to build a framework for enterprise-wide cloud adoption. Most of our customers are migrating large web-based workloads as well as core enterprise critical applications related to the line of business applications, CMS, databases, CRM, remote desktops and hosted communication services such as email to the AWS cloud platform.

Where do you think will the big growth come for your operations?

We are very excited about the growth of AWS cloud across the world and especially in the regions of focus for Minjar. We are looking forward to the upcoming AWS infrastructure region in India as it would significantly accelerate adoption in India market for Amazon Web Services.

Customers are looking for specialized cloud technology partners who can provide quick turnaround solutions to meet their business needs, so as a born-in-the-cloud company, our DNA is agility and innovation to win our customer’s confidence for long-term growth.
