“We are almost ready to implement & service virtualization, IaaS, BaaS and storage as a service”

At a time when enterprise customers are looking at better managing their IT infrastructure while at the same time cutting down on their IT and communications budgets – cloud and virtualization is attracting a lot of attention and this is where Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic is setting its broad focus in order to do more in less – for its expanding customer base.

Tarun Seth, Managing Director – Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic Pvt. Ltd. speaks with Zia Askari from ChannelDrive.in on the way company is focusing itself today and how it is looking forward to providing next generation services on cloud and virtualization.

How has been the journey for Micro Clinic so far and how does the company look at the road ahead?

Micro Clinic started off as a 5 member team. Our slogan back then was Life after Death in 4 hours. Our aim was if a computer fails we get it back to life within 4 hours. We had stationed vans on field and given a phone to engineers and back then the phone used to cost more than the van itself so that we can achieve our aim.

That’s how our journey began and we were acquired by Hitachi Systems on 18th march 2014. Since then Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic has not looked back and has been steadily growing at the rate of 55% year on year basis. With the current new initiatives of the government and the private sector market also growing we see good times ahead for Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic. We have built our core competencies by understanding the market and feel we are prepared for the next wave of IT. We are bringing a lot of proprietary technologies in the field of IT in India to cater to our customers’ requirements

What are your top priorities for India today?

Our top priority for India is to provide state of the art IT services, for which Hitachi is known for across the globe. Hence we are bringing in Network operations Center (NOC) and Security Operation Center (SOC) so that we can give our customers around the clock service so that customer have peace of mind in managing their complex IT set up.

With cloud and virtualization coming to the fore.. How different is the business of systems integration today?

Business integration has become much more exciting for us, as we can do a lot more compared to what we could do earlier, like today we can show ROI and TCO to any business much faster than what we could show earlier.

As virtualization has become the back bone for all organizations and we are fully equipped to implement as well as manage such projects. We have built a team to cater to the data center requirements of the customer and have done projects across various business verticals. We believe that virtualization is not only important for Data Centers but also for internal IT infrastructure as well. Hence at Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic have launched Desktop as a service so that organizations can secure their data and also go for an OPEX model to get minimize TCO.

As for the cloud, it is growing steadily and the next big wave will be movement from physical infrastructure to cloud infrastructure. Hence we are developing services around cloud infrastructure and partnering with cloud service providers. Hitachi Systems in Japan has data centers, we are taking their help and expertise to build cloud services.

We at Hitachi System Micro Clinic are almost ready to implement and service virtualization, infrastructure as service, back up as a service and storage as service.

How do you look at the possibilities opened up by the government of India’s digital India and smart cities projects?

Digital India is the big initiative along with smart cities by the government of India. We at Hitachi System Micro Clinic are collaborating with all Hitachi group companies and working as one Hitachi to provide the state of the art implementation and services for these projects in time to come.

Government is also looking forward to large SIs and solution providers to create a big application developer ecosystem. How do you look at this as an opportunity?

As far as the application space is concerned we are not looking at this piece at the moment.

What kind of growth are you looking at… where is this growth going to come from?

We are very optimistic to keep growing at 55% year on year and we for see the growth coming from security and services business. Today we feel we are one of the few SI companies which can provide complete IT solutions to any organization. As the Government has announced initiatives for government as well as for private organization to have security in IT we feel that it will be a major factor in our growth.

What are some of your big challenges today..how easy or difficult was the integration of two companies – Hitachi and Micro Clinic?

The Micro clinic migration to Hitachi has been seamless. As Hitachi, is very structured organization and everything is documented so well, which helped in smooth integration of both the companies.
