Unia Picks Oracle to Increase Productivity, Drive Innovation

Oracle has announced that Unia, Switzerland’s largest trade union, has selected the Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite to make its operations more efficient. This digital transformation will enable Unia to standardize business processes across finance, HR and customer experience to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve its employee experience and member services.

Supported by an ageing on-premises IT infrastructure that led to fragmented administrative processes, frequent service delays, and increased pressure on employees, Unia needed to re-evaluate how it managed its core business processes to better support its workforce and the needs of more than a million Swiss workers. This led the organization to replace its systems with Oracle Fusion Applications, which Unia selected for its ability to standardize core business processes on a single data platform.

“Unia is tapping into the power of the cloud to help us meet the new service demands and expectations from our members, as well as the rapidly-evolving needs of our workforce,” said Daniel Bühler, Head of Central Services, Unia. “We need more efficient and flexible business operations and after a competitive search, we selected Oracle due to its proven technology and depth in applications to address all of our needs. With Oracle Fusion Applications, we want now to achieve to scale our digital infrastructure, to rapidly innovate and to focus on better serving our members.”

With Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Unia will consolidate more than seven business systems to three on one enterprise-scale ERP application to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve controls. Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) will provide the organization with an integrated HR platform that unifies all processes across the employee lifecycle and delivers a more personalized employee experience. Additionally, Unia will deploy Oracle Fusion Cloud Customer Experience (CX), which will enable it to connect data across marketing and service to drive more predictive member relationships and service models.

“Unia now has the robust tools it needs to meet rapidly-changing service and performance expectations,” said Tobias Ackermann, Applications Leader Switzerland, Oracle. “With our innovative cloud technology and strong track record of helping customers achieve optimal business outcomes, Oracle Fusion Applications will enable one of Europe’s most progressive unions to optimize its operations and better service its staff and members.”

“Unia’s digitization strategy is centered around bettering the quality of service for their members and the quality of life for their employees, explained Dr Frank Schönthaler, CEO at PROMATIS. With our Integrated Quality Process Model (IQPM) in collaboration with our trusted partner Oracle, we are confident that we can meet Unia’s expectations.”
