Salesforce Invests $1B in Mexico to Drive AI Innovation

Salesforce, the world’s #1 AI-powered CRM, announced plans to invest $1 billion in its Mexican operations over the next five years. This announcement reinforces Salesforce’s commitment to Mexico’s economic and social development and is designed to help businesses across the country and throughout the region transform into Agentic Enterprises , where people and AI agents work together to drive customer success.

The investment will be used to launch a new state-of-the-art office, support regional clients through a Global Delivery Center (GDC), and recruit top talent. It also aims to grow the ecosystem by investing in workforce development and AI training.

“Salesforce’s commitment to expand its investment in Mexico underscores the strength of our economy and the exceptional talent we have,” said Marcelo Ebrard, Mexico’s Secretary of Economy. “This investment will not only create jobs and develop AI skills in Mexico, but will also position our country as a key consulting hub for markets throughout Latin America in AI agents and beyond.”

Mexico is a significant growth market for Salesforce, with a thriving customer base that includes leading organizations such as Xcaret, Grupo Bafar, and FEMSA. It’s also an innovation hub for the entire Latin American region, with a robust ecosystem of nearly 1,000 partners and distributors.

“Mexico is home to some of the world’s most innovative companies and is becoming an important hub for businesses investing in the future of AI,” said Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce. “This $1 billion investment is a commitment to Mexico as a key market for AI-driven growth, supporting the incredible talent, customers, and partners who are shaping the next generation of digital leadership across Latin America. Together, we’re accelerating the rise of agentic businesses, collaborating with people and AI agents to transform industries and drive unprecedented levels of productivity, efficiency, and customer success.”

Driving AI innovation from Mexico

Salesforce’s commitment to the country began in 2006, when the company launched operations with just a few employees in a small office. Since then, it has grown steadily, consolidating its position as a strategic partner to thousands of Mexican companies and public sector organizations, and serving as an innovation hub for the entire region.

Today, Salesforce is opening a new five-story office in Polanco, Mexico City. Located in the Miyana II building, the new space has capacity for up to 2,000 employees. It will serve as an innovation center and house one of the company’s new GDCs, which will be central to Salesforce’s new initiative to help companies transform their operations using Agentforce.

As part of Salesforce’s professional services organization, the GDC will provide specialized multilingual consulting services in English, Spanish, and Portuguese to clients across the Americas.

Leading organizations such as Globo, a leading media company in Brazil, Grupo Falabella, one of Chile’s leading retailers, and Protección, a pension and investment management company in Colombia, already trust Agentforce and will now have access to GDC’s services.

“Agentforce is the catalyst for transformation, helping organizations in Mexico and throughout the region become agent-driven businesses,” said Phil Sebok, Country Manager of Salesforce Mexico. “This investment allows us to help companies expand their agent workforce to create new opportunities, revenue streams, and ways of working.”

Salesforce’s commitment to social giving

Through its 1-1-1 philanthropic model , Salesforce is dedicated to supporting communities by donating time, solutions, and capital.

Salesforce is investing $250,000 in Friends of Philanthropy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the capabilities of nonprofit organizations and educational institutions in Mexico. This investment aims to help 100,000 Mexican students acquire skills in artificial intelligence by providing them with the training and resources necessary to excel in the era of the Agentic Enterprise.

By empowering people with these skills, Salesforce not only fosters local talent but also enhances these organizations’ ability to have a greater impact on the communities they serve.

Salesforce is also collaborating with the International Youth Foundation (IYF), a participant in the Salesforce Accelerator – Agents for Impact program . Through this philanthropic program, which provides nonprofits with funding, pro bono expertise, and technology to scale innovative solutions, IYF is developing Clara, a global career guidance agent. Available via WhatsApp in Spanish, Clara offers youth personalized, market-based career recommendations. The initiative is projected to expand IYF’s annual reach among youth by 35% and increase skills acquisition by 20%.

To date, Salesforce has donated a total of $2.6 million to organizations in Mexico, and its employees have dedicated nearly 40,000 volunteer hours to local causes. Its long-standing nonprofit partners include Mentoralia, Reforestamos México, and Yolia.
