Promoted by Oracle in a strategic alliance with Alura Latam, Oracle Next Education (ONE) has been a driver of change in technology education and employability since its launch in 2019. What began as a pilot program in Brazil has expanded in 2021 to reach 13 countries in Latin America, impacting the lives of more than 500,000 people by training and connecting new talents with opportunities in the labor market through Oracle partner companies.
Alura Latam Strategic Partnership is distinguished by its educational methodology and its focus on constant technological development. This practical approach equips ONE students with key technical skills, fosters critical thinking, and enables them to face real-life challenges in the technology sector. In addition, it offers those who have not had access to quality education a unique opportunity to improve their socioeconomic situation.
A Comprehensive Educational Experience
From the beginning of the program, students are encouraged to participate in communities and discussion forums, where they can share ideas, projects and resolve doubts in a collaborative manner. This environment fosters a sense of belonging and self-sufficiency, vital for the development of Soft Skills. ONE has a dedicated team, which provides constant support to both students and various program partners, ensuring a smooth experience and complete technical support.
In total, ONE has trained 79.3 thousand people in countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Colombia , Argentina , Peru, Chile , Costa Rica , Dominican Republic, Guatemala , El Salvador , Honduras , Panama and Puerto Rico . More than 12.5 thousand participants have been hired by large technology companies, accessing additional knowledge paths in areas such as Database with MySQL, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI).
Impact and Reach
Amanda Gelumbauskas , Oracle’s ONE leader for Latin America, highlights that the collaboration with Alura has been fundamental to the success of the ONE – Oracle Next Education – program in Latin America. ” Alura Latam ‘s teaching methodology has been a significant differentiator. The teamwork between our institutions enriches learning and strengthens participants’ preparation for the challenges of the labor market. These combined elements have directly contributed to the positive results and consolidation of our program in the region, impacting thousands of lives and training new technological talents for the future,” she explains.
For Christian Velasco , leader of Alura Latam , the alliance with Oracle fulfills the brand’s central objective: improving lives and careers through technological education. The program will enable more people to be trained, providing them with the necessary tools to thrive in the technology market, a sector that has experienced sustained growth in recent years. “We are happy with the alliance formed between Alura and Oracle. This union looks even further to the future, with the inclusion, for example, of more than 80 hours of generative artificial intelligence content in ONE’s programs. As we move towards an increasingly digital and connected era, artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming an indispensable and transformative tool in all industries,” he said.
How does the program work?
The 10-month program offers 8 content paths available on the Alura Latam platform . It includes live classes, practical challenges, and opportunities for constant connection with companies, covering both technical skills and transversal skills in communication and productivity.
Participants can access the community through ONE’s Discord, with spaces designed to encourage the exchange of ideas and the resolution of doubts, as well as webinars with experts from the technology sector and live sessions on employability and innovation. Students also have a virtual tutor to answer questions at any time of the day.
Upon completion of the course, students receive a certificate that qualifies them to work in software development, applications, and other technological functions.
Open Participation
ONE is aimed at people aged 18 and over, with no age limit, with a particular focus on those transitioning into the technology sector. Amanda concludes: “Our aim is to form a real knowledge hub in digital skills and business, providing opportunities for all those interested in innovating,” she says.
More Alura Latam Projects
In addition to ONE, Alura Latam has been a key promoter of the democratization of technological education in Latin America. Since its inception in 2020, Alura ‘s business unit has expanded its offering from 30 to more than 280 courses created in Spanish, which are video-classes with a practical approach and adapted to the needs of the labor market. Alura Latam has already included Luri, a virtual assistant, within the platform and she is already part of the student support team. Developed to act as a virtual tutor available 7 days a week and 24 hours a day to support students, for the second semester of 2024, it will launch an Artificial Intelligence (AI) school, with essential components to offer a comprehensive and effective education.
