Paladion, MS Ramaiah University to launch MTech Course in Cyber Security & Information Assurance

Paladion Networks, an information security provider, is partnering with Karnataka’s engineering college MS Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences to launch an M Tech program in Cyber security and Information Assurance.

The two year course, co-designed by Paladion, offers a leading edge curriculum that covers security intelligence and analytics; governance, risk and compliance; security operation centre and much more. The program also offers a nine month internship with Paladion, which may involve being placed in its global client locations. Bright young graduates in B Tech or BE with a CGPA of 7 or above can apply for the course. An aptitude test and interview will be part of the selection process.

Why this move?

India will require five lakh cyber security professionals by the end of 2015 to support its fast growing internet economy as per an estimate by the Indian Union Ministry of Information Technology. And according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, USA, Information Security Analyst’s jobs will have a 37% jump by 2022. In spite of the obvious demand, the number of employable candidates is few.

“The market for cyber security professionals is large and the demand is growing much faster than the average IT job. While the need for cyber security professionals is huge, the industry readiness among students who pass out from existing P.G. courses is lacking. Our partnership with M.S. Ramaiah will enable their curriculum on Cyber Security and Information Assurance with the latest industry developments and also have on-going engagement to bridge this gap,” said Rajat Mohanty, CEO and Co-Founder of Paladion Networks.

“M.S.Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences have been offering tailor made courses to industries. Our M Tech programme in Cyber Security and Information Assurance is one such course specifically designed for the engineers. This programme has been developed with Paladion Networks (P) Ltd. This kind of association with the Industry help our staff keep abreast with industrial requirements and bring that experience to class rooms for students pursuing our regular M tech courses.” said Prof S.R.Shankapal, Vice Chancellor at M.S.Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences.
