Hot cloud storage specialist Wasabi Technologies announces the opening of a new storage region in Paris , marking another step in Wasabi’s global development strategy to meet to growth in demand and provide greater proximity to customers and partners across France.
This new storage region, Wasabi’s first in France and the ninth in total, is located in the Equinix Paris site. The site benefits from high-speed network access to improve the availability and speed of services throughout the region, as well as the environmental benefits of Equinix’s energy efficiency standards.
The size and performance capabilities of the facility will also support future business growth as demand for local cloud storage grows exponentially across Europe.
As the amount of data produced explodes, analyst firm IDC estimates that the market for public cloud storage services in France will grow by 40% annually in 2021. 1 In addition, various data protection regulations and data sovereignty have increased the desire of European countries to store them in the country where they operate. Recognizing this need, Wasabi began a rollout in Europe , starting with Amsterdam in 2019, and most recently with London.
Wasabi plans to open additional storage regions over the next 12 months, including Germany, and will also expand its partner network, which includes Exclusive Networks as well as hundreds of resellers and MSPs, to further power operations across Europe.
