Hrishi Parthasarathy-Avaya

Speaking about the company’s UCC strategy, Hrishi Parthsarthy, Director, Alliances and Partnerships India & SAARC, Avaya says, “Our increasing focus on the mid-market sector includes providing the means to mid-sized businesses, to enable them to compete with larger enterprises by leveraging unified communications and collaboration. Unified Communications simplifies the proliferation of technologies that businesses deal with on a day to day basis. Our people-centric solutions integrate voice, video and data, enabling users to communicate and collaborate in real time, in the mode best suited to each interaction. This eliminates inefficiencies in communications to make organizations more productive and responsive. Our industry-leading service delivery organization, backed by our ground-breaking management platform, enables Avaya to manage communications infrastructures of any age, with products and applications from any vendors, and in any geographic location,” he adds on.

With the right technology in place, mobility and video are playing an ever more important role in delivering effective, productivity-enhancing solutions to users.

“We are focused on supporting mobile access to all of a company’s resources, so employees can be as productive on the road as they are in the office. Our Scopia video solutions are one such example, bringing teams together regardless of location or device, for a rich collaboration experience which includes video, content sharing and instant access without traditional bandwidth constraints or the limited access of room-based systems,” he explains.

According to Zubair Alam, General Manager, Enterprise Business, NEC India, NEC recognizes the industry shift towards software-based, IT-centric communications and has carefully selected and invested in cutting-edge software architecture that uniquely addresses this new and growing market. At the foundation of this new initiative is NEC’s UNIVERGE 3C, NEC’s flagship software-based collaboration technology.

“NEC’s UNIVERGE 3C is a combined UC (unified communications), collaboration, and business tailored software services platform for enterprises, medium sized businesses, and Cloud operators. It is designed as unified software architecture, specifically to address the concerns of interoperability, streamlined administration, and is a very natural fit into an IT organization’s virtualized data centers. Utilizing a service-oriented architecture and open standards (e.g. SIP, XMPP), UNIVERGE 3C provides the utmost in adaptability, which enables customers to easily consider how communications can best contribute to the needs of their business,” he explains.

While focusing its efforts on the enterprise community, Dell is taking a four pronged approach of – Transform, Connect, Inform and Protect to enable its customer’s UCC strategy.

Vijay SampathKumar-Dell

“In approaching our customers, we ensure that their needs for UCC are met from end-to-end. In order to achieve this we follow a four step method of reaching out to our customers: Transform, Connect, Inform, Protect

o    Transform: We enable our customers to transform their datacenter in a way that increases IT agility while lowering costs

o    Connect: We enable our customer to increase productivity by enabling the next generation workforce to work securely from anywhere, anytime and on any device.

o    Inform: We enable our customers to control their data deluge and use it to drive insights to gain a competitive advantage.

o    Protect: We enable our customers to protect themselves from organized attacks to cyber theft.

We offer organisations two approaches for building an efficient, scalable UCC environment to allow the UCC infrastructure grow efficiently with your organization while protecting previous IT investments. These two approaches are:

o    Flexible, modular solutions – This approach allows organisations to build on the infrastructure already existing to integrate aspects of Dell’s portfolio of intelligent infrastructure technology: servers, storage, networking and endpoint devices.

o    Pre-integrated solutions – This allows organisations to achieve faster time to deployment using Dell pre-engineered, pre-built and pretested solutions,” explains, Vijay Sampathkumar, Country Leader Enterprise Solutions Group – Global Commercial Channels, Dell India.

As we move ahead, more and more enterprise are likely to benefit from the advantages of collaborative tools such as video conferencing etc and take their employee productivity to the next level and more importantly, increase innovative collaboration in a connected enterprise world.
