Spotlight on Women in Tech | ChannelDrive.in
HerKey has announced the overwhelming success of HerRising 2024, which kicked off its first in-person event in Gurugram this September. As part of India’s largest hybrid conference and career fair dedicated to women, the event provided a dynamic platform for learning and networking, bringing together diverse professionals across various industries.
HerRising 2024 in Gurugram featured a dynamic mix of keynote speeches and workshops, all designed to inspire women to thrive in their careers while embracing their multifaceted roles in their lives. The event perfectly embodied this year’s theme, #ToBeHer, celebrating the strength, resilience, and ambition of women from across India.
A key highlight of the event was the unveiling of a groundbreaking report titled The Broken Rung: Challenges in Women’s Career Progression. This report, a collaborative effort between HerKey and Prin. L.N. Welingkar Institute of Management, Bengaluru, shines a spotlight on the systemic barriers hindering Indian women from advancing to managerial positions. Offering data-driven insights and actionable recommendations, the report aims to pave the way for greater gender equality in the workplace.
Priyanka Gill, Venture Partner at Kalaari Capital and Co-founder of The Good Glamm Group, captivated the audience with her keynote address titled Shaping Your Success: Strategies #ToBeHer and Thrive in Dynamic Careers. She emphasized, “Success in today’s ever-evolving landscape requires not only resilience but also a commitment to continuous growth. The journey to be her is about embracing every challenge as an opportunity and carving a unique path to thrive.
Earlier in the day, Muru Arjunan, CTO, of HerKey, welcomed the audience and touched upon the 4Ms of a woman’s life- Marriage, Mobility, Motherhood & Medical Care. That’s why usually a woman’s career graph looks very different from a man’s. Muru also dwelled upon the importance of allies in a woman’s career. For every HER she needs a ForHer and HerKey brings both together on a common platform so that every woman gets what she needs to advance in her career and beyond with the power of communities.
Aditya Birla, Cargill, Corning, dunnhumby, and numerous other prominent corporations were in attendance. The event witnessed the participation of industry leaders such as PwC, Ericsson, S&P Global, Mastercard and more.
The event provided a unique opportunity for women to connect with like-minded professionals, gain insights from industry leaders, and explore new career opportunities. The success of the Gurugram event sets the stage for the upcoming HerRising 2024 events in Mumbai and Bengaluru. As HerRising continues to expand across India, it remains committed to its mission of empowering women and fostering an environment where they can thrive.
