HPE has announced that DB Life Insurance, a leading insurance and financial services provider in South Korea, has selected HPE to support its AI transformation journey to improve employee productivity, automate customer interactions, and drive greater operational efficiency.
In response to the growing maturity of generative AI (GenAI) technologies and evolving customer expectations, DB Life Insurance partnered with HPE to implement a next-generation AI-powered chatbot service and build a scalable Large Language Model Operations (LLM Ops) platform using HPE GreenLake Flex Solutions. HPE GreenLake Flex Solutions offer modular, as-a-service infrastructure that combines compute, storage, networking, and AI software in a flexible, pay-per-use model enabling enterprises to scale resources on demand while maintaining control, security, and data sovereignty.
These initiatives are designed to improve how employees access and utilize information, reduce response times, and deliver more accurate and personalized customer consultations. With financial services institutions worldwide increasingly exploring generative AI to enhance operations and customer engagements, DB Life Insurance’s adoption of the technology underscores its commitment to innovation and delivering customer-centric solutions.
By choosing HPE’s AI solutions and services, we are safeguarding sovereignty and ensuring full control over our infrastructure and information. This foundation allows us to harness generative AI with confidence, empowering our teams with faster access to accurate information, reducing response times, and creating more seamless and personalized experiences, positioning us to lead in the next era of digital financial services.
“HPE has enabled us to take a bold step towards reimagining how we serve our customers,” said HyoSik Min, Head of the Digital Innovation Division DB Life Insurance. “By choosing HPE’s AI solutions and services, we are safeguarding sovereignty and ensuring full control over our infrastructure and information. This foundation allows us to harness generative AI with confidence, empowering our teams with faster access to accurate information, reducing response times, and creating more seamless and personalized experiences, positioning us to lead in the next era of digital financial services.”
DB Life Insurance’s approach supports compliance with South Korea’s stringent financial regulations, which mandate the protection of sensitive financial data within sovereign, secure environments. HPE combined its advisory-led approach with its as-a-service model to deliver a unified solution meeting South Korea’s strict regulations and sovereign AI requirements. Leveraging the expertise of the HPE Services team, the project integrated HPE GreenLake Flex Solutions, HPE Data Fabric Software with HPE SimpliVity virtualization—optimizing resource usage and ensuring secure deployment within DB Life’s environment.
At the core of the solution is a Korean-language optimized LLMOps platform that automates retrieval augmented generation (RAG) and integrates it with large language models in a secure, air-gapped environment. This enables DB Life Insurance to extract knowledge from thousands of legacy documents, convert it into a searchable format, and combine it with the reasoning power of LLMs to deliver precise, context-aware responses.
“Financial institutions today are under increasing pressure to deliver faster, smarter, and more personalized services—while navigating complex regulatory environments,” said Young Chae Kim, managing director, HPE South Korea. “Our collaboration with DB Life Insurance showcases how generative AI can be harnessed securely and effectively to unlock real business value. Through HPE’s enterprise technology, industry expertise, and as-a-service delivery model, we’re helping DB Life Insurance lay the foundation for a future where AI meaningfully enhances both productivity and customer experience.”
This project underscores HPE’s growing footprint in regulated sectors and delivers a clear blueprint for AI adoption tailored for robust security and regulatory alignment. As DB Life continues its GenAI deployment, the scalable platform positions them well for future expansion and differentiation in digital financial services.
