India crucial to scale SAP’s growth in the Cloud: Thomas Saueressig

SAP Labs India, headquartered in Whitefield Bengaluru, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. As it arrives at this important milestone, SAP Labs India commits to double down its investments in India and expand its focus on critical innovations in AI technologies.

Since its inception in 1998, SAP Labs India has made significant contributions to SAP’s flagship solutions in the fields of enterprise resource planning, customer experience, cloud ERP, sustainability, supply chain resiliency, and the future of work. Today, India is among the fastest growing regions for SAP, with the region’s contribution to SAP APAC’s cloud revenues up 2x in the last two years.

SAP’s presence in India is one of our greatest success stories. India is in a unique position to scale SAP’s growth in the cloud. With a 15,000+ strong talent base, 40% of SAP’s global R&D happens right here in India. We remain committed to India’s growth going forward.”

“We are leveraging artificial intelligence and have already embedded over 300 AI use cases across our solutions. We are also working towards creating greater value for our customers by combining generative AI capabilities with our deep industry and business process knowledge,” added Saueressig.

As part of its investments in the region, SAP Labs India is building a second campus in Bengaluru which will generate 15,000 more jobs in India’s technology space. The new campus will prioritize sustainability, wellness, and inclusion while keeping employees at the forefront of SAP’s views.
