“We are helping organisations embrace open source telephony”

As communications infrastructure continues to be the focal point for driving business productivity for enterprise and SMB segment, Bangalore based *astTECS is helping organisations embrace open source telephony in order to simplify their communications infrastructure. In an exclusive discussion with ChannelDrive.in, Manjunath RJ, Head – IP PBX Division at *astTECS talks about the company’s plans for India and how solution providers can pay an important role here.

Q What are some of the key focus areas for the company?

Our current focus is to extend the *astTECS robust and comprehensive Asterisk based Open source telephony portfolio to customers in the Indian market – spanning SMB to enterprise and partners. We would focus on extending our solution that helps simplify organizations communications infrastructure and reduce costs with high-performance, scalable, security-rich Open Source based telephony platform.

Q What is the go to market strategy that the company has towards reaching out to its customers?

India is a key market and we see an exponential growth in the Open Source Telephony space here. Solution partners are important to us and we are keen on engaging with them, which would help us make faster inroads into newer customers.

We will be reaching out to our audience through our team spread across key locations in India and globally through our solution partners, creating brand visibility through road shows and seminars and showcase our portfolio and solutions designed around clients business challenges across all verticals.

Q How many distributors and enterprise channel partners does the company has in India?

We work with more than 20 partners spread across TIER I and TIER II cities.

Q What kind of growth is the company looking at? Where is this growth going to come from?

SMBs are a key component of our growth strategy. We are working on building unique business models to suit enterprise communications infrastructure. Our extensive range of solutions addresses all areas of business communications; including SMEs across all segments. IT / ITES, Contact centres, BFSI, Manufacturing, Retail & Hospitality to name a few. For enterprise applications there are immense possibilities & opportunities open today with the maturity of communication standards.

We are keen to transform and accelerate the potential of Open Source in telephony solutions and enterprise communications and bridge the gap by bringing it closer to the user as we continue to broaden its presence and create an environment that can efficiently increase business growth and reduce costs.

Q) Please list some of your enterprise partners in India and why are they important to the company’s growth ahead?

Enterprise partners are critical element in the growth markets as they help create opportunities, strengthen the product portfolio and help us enter new market segments. Our current partners are present in Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Cochin, Kolkata, Coimbatore, Ahmadabad, Pune.
