FireEye Appoints Vishak Raman as Senior Regional Director for India and SAARC

Vishak Raman has joined FireEye as Senior Regional Director for India and SAARC. Vishak is a security industry veteran and joins from Tata Communications where he was Vice President for Global Product Management for Managed Security Services and Content Delivery Networks.

“As India becomes increasingly connected with technology and its economy grows more reliant on intellectual property, cyber security has become a matter of national and economic security. Business leaders and governments across India are growing increasingly concerned by the significant risks posed by cyber attacks,” said Eric Hoh, President for Asia Pacific and Japan at FireEye. “I have every confidence in Vishak’s leadership and his ability to further our mission helping organizations in the region improve their cyber security.”

Vishak previously held leadership roles at Fortinet and WatchGuard Technologies. He will be based in Bangalore.

“India’s cyber security is approaching a critical juncture, and FireEye is ideally positioned to strengthen our defenses with a combination of technology, expertise and threat intelligence,” said Vishak Raman, Senior Regional Director for India and SAARC at FireEye.

FireEye has revealed multiple campaigns by groups targeting India and has a significant research and development operation in Bangalore. India is among the world’s most targeted regions for advanced cyber attacks. In the second half of 2016, FireEye observed targeted attacks on 24% of its customers there. The global average is 15%.
